Bangalore, the 'Garden City Of India' and capital of the State (1000 m above level ) was founded in 1537 AD by a Vijaynagar chieftain Kempe Gowda. In the 18th century it was the stronghold of Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan. Today it is the fifth largest city of India

April to August is the hottest time in Bangalore. One can expect average daily highs of around 34-36℃. Most tourists visit Bangalore in the winter months, between September and March. Average daytime temperatures during this period range from 28℃. September is the rainiest month in Bangalore, followed by October.

By Road

KSRTC buses connect all cities in the state to Bangalore. Many super deluxe bus services are available from Bangalore to Hyderabad, Cochin, Trivandrum, Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and Mysore.

By Train

Bangalore comes under the South Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Bangalore City Railway Station and Yeshwanthapur Junction connect the city to the rest of the country. Bangalore is also connected by rail to most cities in Karnataka, as well as other metros like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and other major cities in India.

By Air

Bangalore International Airport is a little away from the heart of the city. It is called Bengaluru international airport and has international and domestic flights operating from here. There are 2 terminals i.e. T1 and T2

Bangalore Fort

Originally built by Kempegowda in 1537 A D. It is located next to the Victoria Hospital Gate in the K.R Market area.

Vidhan Sabha

Vidhan Sabha is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. It is an imposing granite building, built in 1956 in the 'Neo-Dravidian' style, incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic, Rajasthani Jharokha and Dravidian styles.

Government Museum

Government Museum was established in 1865 has a rare collection of archaeological and geological artifacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions. The museum is also home to the Halmidi inscription, the earliest Kannada inscription ever found (450 AD)
